People facing narcissistic abuse may experience intimidation, coercion, gaslighting, or emotional blackmail. It can affect men and women and may come from a romantic, parental, friendship or workplace relationship. if you are feeling confused, angry, sad, lost, ashamed or alone because of another person's toxic behaviours and feel you cannot tell your friends or family, I offer a safe space where you will not be judged but will be heard, believed and supported.
Trauma is an emotional response often caused by living through a distressing event. Experiencing a traumatic event can harm your sense of safety, sense of self and ability to regulate emotions and navigate relationships. You may feel shame, helplessness, powerlessness and intense fear long after the event has occurred. I can help you to make sense of your thoughts feelings and fears and will work with you to try and overcome these feelings.
Domestic abuse can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. It can involve physical, sexual, emotional, economic or psychological actions or threats used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. It can leave you feeling unsafe alone, scared, confused and worried, with loss of self esteem. But you do not have to be alone. I will work with you to help you find your voice and build your self esteem enabling you to rebuild your life in a safe and healthy way.
Bereavement is the period after someone close to us has died - with all the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that ensues. Grief is our reaction to losses of any kind, including the losses people experience when someone is dying or seriously ill for a long time. It is the thoughts and feelings we experience as we try to come to terms with what has happened, and is also the process of finding ways to cope with a person's death. With a listening, understanding ear and various therapeutic tools, I can take this journey with you and help you find useful ways to come to terms with your loss.
Depression and anxiety are different conditions, but they commonly occur together. Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Feeling anxious can be perfectly normal. But some people find it hard to control their worries and this can often affect their daily lives.
Depression is when a sad mood lasts for a long time and interferes with normal, everyday functioning and you feel discouraged, sad, hopeless, unmotivated, or disinterested in life in general. I work with you to find the root cause of these feelings and look for coping mechanisms to help you free yourself from them.
Stress is a reaction to feeling under pressure or threatened, usually when we do not feel we can manage or control situations we are in. In a workplace setting, stress may arise when work demands and pressures do not match our knowledge and abilities and so challenge our ability to cope. Together, we can talk things through and help you to work out strategies you can use to relieve or remove such pressures and demands and remove the stress
