About Me: A Personal Journey with You in Mind

I come from a diverse background, born and raised in London with roots in Northern Ireland and Trinidad & Tobago. Over the years, my life experiences have shaped how I see the world, and I’ve developed a deep understanding of the complexities of human nature through travel and a rich variety of personal experiences. I have experienced childhood trauma, as well as trauma in adulthood and I have suffered a number of bereavements, sometimes questioning my faith & spirituality. I struggled with narcissistic abuse which left me broken for a number of years. But with the help of therapy I am the person I am today: fulfilled in the work I do with others like you & I. These influences help me bring genuine empathy and an open mind to my practice. In my work, I truly value each person and the wisdom they bring from their own life journey. I believe in the power of different perspectives, and so alongside extensive training, I use those past experiences to help you find clarity, healing, and growth.

The name Libera Mentis means "Free Mind"—and that’s exactly what I aim to help you achieve: freedom from the mental and emotional burdens that life can place on us. Whether you're struggling with narcissistic abuse, anxiety, grief, or stress, my job is to support you in gaining the tools and insights to break free from those challenges.

I use an integrative approach to therapy, combining techniques such as psychodynamic therapy, CBT, therapeutic art and somatic work, as well as a faith-based approach for those who want to explore spirituality alongside their emotional healing. My aim is to provide the most effective therapy suited to your unique needs, helping you feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together to overcome the issues holding you back.

I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom, MS Teams, or Google Meet, so you can access support from anywhere you feel most comfortable. Whether you’re in Croydon, another part of the UK, or abroad, I provide a secure, confidential space for you to speak freely.

For those who want to explore their spiritual journey, I offer online Christian counselling & a faith-based approach to counselling, helping you integrate emotional healing and spiritual growth.​

I am also passionate about working with minority communities, understanding how attachment issues and generational trauma intersect with narcissistic abuse and mental health issues.

Qualifications & Experience

I am a level 5 qualified, registered counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). In addition, I hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, which allows me to offer supervision to student and qualified counsellors.

I’ve worked with a range of clients, including those referred by GPs, healthcare professionals, and through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). I offer integrative counselling services to private companies, insurance companies, and solicitors. My volunteer work at Mind and Advance Minerva further strengthens my experience in supporting those with mental health challenges both online and face-to-face.
